Mick Kennedy teaches English at Elizabethtown Community and Technical College where he founded The Heartland Review in 1999. In 2016, he founded The Heartland Review Press for the college and instituted THRP’s annual chapbook contest.

 

Kennedy has been a featured reader at inKY and the Fort George Poetry Festival and served on the Bernheim Writer in Residence selection panel. He has judged the Indiana State University’s Academy of American Poets contest and has moderated the Kentucky State Poetry Society’s poetry contest. He has been a featured speaker at the Christian Writer’s Association.

 

Kennedy has poetry published in Iron Horse Review, Third Coast, Quarterly Literary Review Singapore, New Southerner, War, Arts and Literature, New Madrid, The Louisville Review, Pikeville Review, Cut-Thru Review, Willow Review, Indiana English, Pegasus, Mid-West Poetry Review, Old City Cool, decomP, Skylark and elsewhere.
